Meet Sara Robbin

We’re thrilled to introduce Sara Robbin as the new Interim Executive Director of Lifekind Foundation! With a background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Sara brings more than two decades of experience and deep expertise in the mind–body connection—an essential perspective that strengthens our mission of joining science and soul to help individuals rewrite their stories.

Sara’s work is grounded in a powerful belief: when we support the whole person, real and lasting change becomes possible. Throughout her career, she has seen how challenges like chronic pain, food insecurity, and mental health struggles are deeply interconnected—yet too often treated separately by traditional systems.

At Lifekind Foundation, we take a different approach. We don’t just distribute food; we pair it with opportunities for meaningful community connection. True transformation happens when people feel nourished physically, emotionally, and socially.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Sara is also an accomplished grant writer who helps translate our mission into meaningful funding partnerships that expand our reach and impact. She serves as a vital bridge between vision and resources.

For Sara, the mind–body connection isn’t just a concept—it’s her life’s work. She understands that when parents learn to calm their nervous systems, they model resilience for their children. When families have access to nourishing food, it supports both physical and mental well-being. And when people feel truly seen and supported by their community, healing accelerates.

This is the Lifekind approach—and Sara embodies it fully.

Experience the Mind-Body Connection

Try this 5-minute grounding practice - something Sara champions and we invite you to experience right now.

  1. Find a comfortable place to sit. Take three slow breaths: in through your nose for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale through your mouth for 6. The longer exhale calms your nervous system.

  1. Scan your body from head to toe.  Notice tension, warmth, numbness—without judgment. Your forehead, shoulders (where we hold stress), chest, belly, low back, all the way to your feet.

  1. Come back to your whole body. Feel yourself held by the ground beneath you. You are supported.

  1. Take three more breaths, then slowly open your eyes.

This simple practice proves what Sara knows: your mind and body are connected. Calm your nervous system, create space for healing. When we do this together—when communities practice mindfulness while building food security and connection—that's when generations heal.
